The shape of the scissor jack resembles scissors, hence its name. It is an essential support tool for major car repair shops and private car owners when lifting vehicles. Although it has a high load-bearing capacity and strong versatility, it is not suitable for supporting large trucks and large tonnage vehicles, but only for car maintenance.
The main reason is that the scissor jack has a simple structure, light weight, and a relatively short shape. Under the hand cranking force of the staff, the screw and nut transmit power, causing the four support arms of the jack to rise and fall in height. This working principle is similar to the tool ladder we usually use, which is made based on the geometric principle of keeping the two waists of an isosceles triangle unchanged and shortening the bottom edge will raise the height line.

When lifting a vehicle, it relies on components such as a base, support arms, pivot pins, and reinforcing ribs. Compared to hydraulic jacks and screw jacks, hydraulic jacks often have insufficient internal force and exert less force. Therefore, they can only lift small cars and cannot lift large trucks.
Due to the small size and simple structure of the scissor jack, we don't have to worry about oil leakage when using it, and it can be used both horizontally and vertically.
