We observe the appearance of the screw jack and can find that the base area of the jack is much larger than the top cover area, which also leads to the appearance of a slope characteristic of the jack. The ratio of this slope is 1:10, aiming to improve the stability of the screw jack while saving manufacturing materials.

Claw jacks and hydraulic jacks, which are lifting equipment similar to screw jacks, do not have such a large slope. This is not only related to the lifting system inside the jack itself, but also to the load-bearing capacity of the jack. By comparing small tonnage jacks with large tonnage jacks, we can find that the side slope of large tonnage screw jacks is smaller than that of small tonnage jacks.

Because the weight of heavy objects carried by large tonnage screw jacks is often 100 tons or even 300 tons, which is different from the 20 ton or 50 ton heavy objects we usually come into contact with. This type of large tonnage heavy object requires very high stability of the jack, including the size and model of all components such as the jack base. On the contrary, the requirements for the self weight and body shape of the jack equipment are relatively small.
