Why can multiple hydraulic jacks be used together

Time:2025-10-29 Author:gh-jacks

Usually, it is not recommended to use multiple jacks together. However, when it comes to large-scale lifting operations, it is often necessary to use multiple jacks in common. Friends who understand this situation should be aware that when multiple jacks are shared, hydraulic jacks are always used instead of mechanical jacks. What is the reason for this?

In fact, the reason is not complicated. We need to understand that there is an important prerequisite for sharing a thousand or more machines, which is to ensure the synchronization of the lifting process. Hydraulic jacks use the working principle of fluid transmission, and multiple hydraulic jacks are equipped with a device called a diversion valve. The main function of this diversion valve is to distribute hydraulic oil so that it can flow in equal amounts. It is precisely under the effective action of the diversion valve that multiple hydraulic jacks can achieve synchronous lifting.

Looking at mechanical jacks again, they do not rely on fluid transmission to operate, but rely on the interaction between mechanical components to complete the lifting operation. So, mechanical jacks do not have devices like diversion valves, making it difficult to achieve synchronous lifting. Once the lifting speed is inconsistent, it is highly likely to cause the object to tilt and become unbalanced, and in severe cases, it may even lead to collapse accidents. Based on the above reasons, when multiple jacks need to be used synchronously, people will choose hydraulic jacks.
