Characteristics of Spiral Jack and Hydraulic Jack

In equipment maintenance, heavy lifting and other engineering operations, jacks play a key role as basic tools. Among them, hydraulic jacks and screw jacks are the most widely used. Although both rely on manual control, they exhibit completely different performance when dealing with complex external environments, especially the significant difference in the impact of temperature factors on their work efficiency.

Spiral jacks have become classic lifting tools due to their simple and reliable mechanical structure. This device adopts a pure mechanical lifting principle, which involves manually shaking the joystick and gradually amplifying the torque through the transmission system of small and large gears. Finally, the force is transmitted to the lifting sleeve to achieve smooth lifting of heavy objects. Due to the fact that the entire working process does not involve fluid media and the thermal expansion and contraction effects of mechanical components are minimal, the impact of temperature fluctuations on the performance of the screw jack can be almost negligible.

In contrast, the working mechanism of hydraulic jacks is highly dependent on the fluid characteristics of hydraulic oil. As a power transmission medium, the viscosity of hydraulic oil is extremely sensitive to temperature changes: when the ambient temperature is too high, the viscosity of the oil decreases significantly, the lubrication performance decreases, the pressure bearing capacity of the seals weakens, and it is highly likely to cause oil leakage risks; In low-temperature environments, the viscosity of the oil increases sharply, the fluidity is severely hindered, and it may even cause the hydraulic system to malfunction, directly affecting the smooth progress of the lifting operation.

In high or low temperature working environments, workers can prioritize using screw jacks to ensure the stability and safety of lifting operations. By accurately matching tool characteristics with environmental conditions, work efficiency can be effectively improved and equipment failure risks can be reduced.
